About
Where creativity meets calling.
LaClave Creative
What we make
Art that speaks: designs that combine typography and imagery so the message sticks.
Built to last: quality papers, inks, and garments—clean edges, sharp prints.
Gift-ready: straightforward sizing, protective packaging, and easy re-orders.
How we create
LaClave Creative uses a studio + print-on-demand model.
Studio: I concept, sketch, paint, refine typography, and finish artwork in-house.
Print-on-demand (POD): items are made after you order by trusted partners (like Printify/Printful) using quality materials and modern printing. This keeps waste low and quality high while giving you fresh, limited runs.
A note on AI in our process
You’ll sometimes see this label on product pages:
“Designed with AI, handcrafted with final edits.”
That means I used AI as a tool (like a digital brush) somewhere in concepting or texture development—and then personally finished, edited, and approved the final artwork. Pieces that are 100% artist-made (no AI) are labeled accordingly. Either way, I’m responsible for the art you receive.
The founder story
Where creativity meets calling. I’m Matthew LaClave, and I started LaClave Creative after telling my wife I felt capable of more—that I’d been sitting on gifts God gave me in art, writing, and speaking. I wanted to use those gifts to make a real difference and to help others do the same.
The name comes from a simple idea: LaClave—“the key”—and Creative—the new life we can unlock through making. My aim is to keep finding ways to open up creativity in myself and in the people I serve, especially professionals who want their spaces to speak encouragement and hope.
I’ve drawn since I was little, studied art in high school and college, trained as a Graphic Specialist in the U.S. Army, and worked professionally in graphic design. I’m a lifelong learner—the more I understand, the more tools I have to serve well (even that early Photoshop course shaped how I refine color, edges, and type today).
My style leans naturalistic, classic, and nostalgic. I love the black-and-gold look for its clean, professional feel—but some subjects must breathe in full color, and I honor that when it serves the piece.

Many plans are in a man’s heart, But the counsel of the Lord will stand.”
